Rising Anti-2SLGBTQIA+ Hate
Anti-2SLGBTQIA+ hate in Canadian schools is not a new phenomenon. Rather, it builds on decades of disinformation, curtailing civil liberties, and passing exclusionary laws that target marginalized communities including 2SLGBTQIA+, Black, Indigenous, racialized, disabled, poor, and immigrant people. Sexual health education has been under attack since its inclusion in the Canadian school curriculum. As a result, we’ve developed a series of tipsheets for educators to help them create SAFER and more welcoming environments at school.
